Games consoles

Last week we were able to play on different games consoles. The purpose of going on the conssoles was to see if they had any educational purpose and what that purpose was. I enjoyed all the consoles and you could see that every game could be used for educationl purposes in one way or another. The Prince of Persia could ahve been used for making up stories and being imaginative and the kinnect and wii fit could have been used for pe etc. Other than educational purposes i found the games fun to use anyway but found the Horse Riding on the Kinnect really hard and you couldn't control the horse at all and when you jumped the horse wouldn't jump. Aswell on teh brain training the ds wouldn't recognise the way i said blue so it got quite frustrating.

Debate

Our team won the debate and i feel that it went really well and we amnaged to put our poits across in a fair and informative way to get across the reasoning behind our arguements.

Gaming

LAst week we all had to have a go on a game and i had to play privates. It was a game informing teenagers about sex, preventations of sexually transmitted diseases and different sexually transmitted diseases. it was put across in a fun way but was also very informative and quite challenging and the consequences of what you did in the game gave you real life situations and what could really happen. The game would have been very useful for teenagers as it was a way of getting the points about sex across in a way that they wouldn't feel intimidated or embarassed.

Week two

Second week of IT and the second blog woohoo! Football training started back this week after christmas and wow it was hard!

Supermarket glog lol

We planned our glog which is an online sort of poster!
Me and Lili worked together to do it so that is why it is completely random and about a trip to the supermarket, we decided we'd wake up one morning find nothing in the fridge and think ASDA! But out journey does include other add ons like were going in to get stuff and we go off onto a healthy eating type thing :)

Today we made animations on animate, this was the first one i did, we then did catchphrase with them and i did cut to the chase!

Education Today - wikis

Today we made a wiki about the effects that technology has on education today. We learnt about how wikis work and what their used for. I think that wikis are a good way for people to share ideas on what they think on certain subjects, people can also edit what you put on a wiki which is another good thing as some information may be incorrect and someone can edit it but also it may be old information on it and this can be updated by whoever is on the subject at that time. Today we also found out about how much technology has changed and how it has changed in education also how it will continue to change and what effects it has on pupils and teachers.
